The Spanish telecoms operator Telef[cent]nica Moviles has entered negotiations with the Dutch company KPN over the June launch of a second-generation (GPRS) mobile phone network in Germany, signalled the Madrid daily business paper Cinco Dias on 22 March. A spokesman from Telef[cent]nica Moviles would only comment that the company was in a favourable position to negotiate with other companies over launching a GPRS network this year, following the delays in the third generation of mobile phones (UMTS).
