While the European Parliament's plenary was voting in second reading on the Working Time Directive, on 17 December in Strasbourg, the ministers attending the Employment and Social Affairs Council were discussing the very same issue as an information point'. It was around lunchtime when news broke of the Parliament's overwhelming vote on the directive. Returning from lunch, the ministers continued their session beyond Europolitics' press deadline.
