TWO MEPS ARRESTED FOR CANNABIS POSSESSION IN UK.

The Italian Radical MEP Marco Cappato and the British Liberal MEP Chris Davies have been arrested in the United Kingdom for possession of cannabis and civil disobedience. In both cases, the MEPs were protesting against the UK's anti-cannabis laws, which have recently lead to the closure of Dutch-style coffee shops there. Mr Davies was arrested on December 15 when protesting against the imprisonment of Colin Davies (no relation) for selling marijuana for medicinal purposes in Stockport. Mr Cappato, along with Italian Radical MEP Maurizio Turco, travelled to Stockport on December 20 to attend the hearing of Mr Davies.
