TWO MORE COUNTRIES BACK EURATOM TREATY RE-TREAD.

The pressure to have the Euratom Treaty revamped is becoming more and more intense. Sweden and Hungary have now officially joined Germany, Austria and Ireland to have the Euratom Treaty, signed in Rome in 1957, brought up to date, in parallel with the EEC Treaty. The key provisions have not been substantially amended since it came into force, the five Member States point out in a declaration annexed to the Constitutional Treaty, issued on October 13 within a lengthy document featuring all the EU Member States' annexed declarations. The five back the idea of calling an Inter-Governmental Conference (IGC) as soon as possible.
