VOLUME OF RETAIL TRADE UP 1.4% IN EU IN NOVEMBER.

Between November 2004 and November 2005, the volume of retail trade grew by 1.4% in the European Union. The retail sales index was up 0.4% on October, according to figures published by Eurostat on January 5. In November 2005, compared to November 2004, retail trade in food, drinks and tobacco increased by 1.0%, the non-food sector gaining 1.7%.
