- Judgment in case C-220/02 Osterreichischer Gewerkschaftsbund, Social policy. Interpretation of Article 141 EC and Article 1 of Directive 75/117/EC on the approximation of the laws of the Member States relating to the application of the principle of equal pay for men and women - Concept of "pay" - Taking into account, for the calculation of the amount paid to the worker on cessation of the employment relationship, of the periods of military or civilian service completed.

- Advocate-General's Opinion C-46/02 Fixtures Marketing. Interpretation of Directive 96/9/EC on the Approximation of laws of the Member States on the legal protection of databases, in particular Article 7 thereof - list of fixtures to be played during a particular season in the English football championship (Premier League and Divisions I, II and III) - whether or not the data contained in it may lawfully be used for the purposes of betting on the results.

- Advocate-General's Opinion C-203/02 The British Horseracing Board and Others. Interpretation of Directive 96/9/EC on the approximation of laws of the Member States on the legal protection of databases - sui generis right, Art. 7 - lawfulness of the use of data contained in the database belonging to the British Horseracing Board Ltd concerning horse races for the purpose of Internet betting.

- Advocate-General's Opinion C-338/02 Hogsta Domstolen. Interpretation of Directive 96/9/EC on the approximation of laws of the Member Stats on the legal protection of databases - Use of the fixture lists for the English and Scottish football leagues for gambling (football pools etc) - Significance of the fact that the fixture list was not, or not primarily, drawn up for the purposes of gambling - Significance of the fact that the data are not obtained directly from the database but from publications produced by third parties (press etc)

- Advocate-General's Opinion C-444/02. Interpretation of Directive 96/9/EC on the approximation of laws of the Member States on the legal protection of databases, in particular Article 7 thereof - Computerised lists of football fixtures for the forth coming season - sui generis right in favour of the maker of such a database to protection under Article 7.
