DECISIÓN DE LA COMISIÓN de 14 de octubre de 2003 sobre la lista de los programas de erradicación y vigilancia de algunas encefalopatías espongiformes transmisibles que pueden optar a una contribución financiera de la Comunidad en 2004 [notificada con el número C(2003) 3713] (2003/746/CE) LA COMISIÓN DE LAS COMUNIDADES EUROPEAS,
Visto el Tratado constitutivo de la Comunidad Europea,
Vista la Decisión 90/424/CEE del Consejo, de 26 de junio de 1990, relativa a determinados gastos en el sector veterinario (1 ), cuya última modificación la constituye el Reglamento (CE) no 806/2003 (2 ), y, en particular, el apartado 5 de su artículo 24,
Considerando lo siguiente:
(1) Los Estados miembros y algunos Estados adherentes han presentado a la Comisión programas de erradicación y vigilancia de algunas encefalopatías espongiformes transmisibles (EET) para los que desean recibir una contribución financiera de la Comunidad.
(2) Con arreglo al Reglamento (CE) no 1258/1999 del Consejo, de 17 de mayo de 1999, sobre la financiación de la política agrícola común (3 ), los programas de erradicación y de vigilancia de las enfermedades animales se financian con cargo a la sección 'Garantía' del Fondo Europeo de Orientación y de Garantía Agrícola. A efectos de control se aplican los artículos 8 y 9 de dicho Reglamento.
(3) El Reglamento (CE) no 999/2001 del Parlamento Europeo y del Consejo, de 22 de mayo de 2001, por el que se establecen disposiciones para la prevención, el control y la erradicación de determinadas encefalopatías espongiformes transmisibles (4 ), cuya última modificación la constituye el Reglamento (CE) no 1234/2003 de la Comisión (5 ), establece las normas para el control de las EET en los animales bovinos, ovinos y caprinos.
