EL CONSEJO DE LA UNIÓN EUROPEA,
Visto el Tratado constitutivo de la Comunidad Europea y, en particular, su artículo 37, en relación con su artículo 300, apartado 2, y apartado 3, párrafo primero,
Vista la propuesta de la Comisión,
Visto el dictamen del Parlamento Europeo,
Considerando lo siguiente:
(1) La Comunidad y la República de Mozambique han negociado y rubricado un Acuerdo de Colaboración en el sector pesquero que otorga posibilidades de pesca a los pescadores comunitarios en la zona de pesca de Mozambique.
(2) Es de interés para la Comunidad aprobar el nuevo Acuerdo.
(3) Es preciso determinar la clave de reparto de las posibilidades de pesca entre los Estados miembros.
HA ADOPTADO EL PRESENTE REGLAMENTO:
Queda aprobado en nombre de la Comunidad el Acuerdo de Colaboración en el sector pesquero (en lo sucesivo denominado «el Acuerdo») entre la Comunidad Europea y la República de Mozambique (1).
Las posibilidades de pesca fijadas por el Protocolo adjunto al Acuerdo se repartirán entre los Estados miembros de la forma siguiente:

En caso de que las solicitudes de licencias de estos Estados miembros no agoten las posibilidades de pesca fijadas en el Protocolo, la Comisión podrá tomar en consideración las solicitudes presentadas por cualquier otro Estado miembro.
Los Estados miembros cuyos buques faenen en virtud del presente Acuerdo notificarán a la Comisión las cantidades de cada población capturadas en la zona de pesca de Mozambique de conformidad con lo dispuesto en el Reglamento (CE) no 500/2001 de la Comisión, de 14 de marzo de 2001, por...
