Professor Alexander von Mühlendahl is a legal expert who currently works as Of Counsel at Bardehle Pagenberg Partnerschaft mbB in Munich and as a Visiting Professor at the Centre for Commercial Law Studies at Queen Mary University of London. He conducted academic research at the Max-Planck-Institute for Intellectual Property Law from 1966 to 1979 and served as an official in the German Federal Ministry of Justice from 1979 to 1994.

He also worked as Vice-President of the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (Trade Marks and Designs) (OHIM), which is now known as the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). He is an Honorary Member of several trademark associations, including ECTA, the Hungarian Trademark Association, and APRAM, and has been inducted into the IP Hall of Fame.
