Abstract

Rapeisoneof theworldscommonphenomenathathasexistedsincethecreationofhuman

beingsDenitions of rapehaveevolvedthroughout times butthe most commonused is

dening rape as sexual assault involving sexual intercourse carried out against a person

withoutapprovalor consentRapeor sexual assault itselfis carried out byusing physical

forceagainsta personwhois eitherincapableor isnotgiving clearapprovaltoperpetrator

thattakesactionThephenomenahastobestudiedandanalyzedfromtwomajorviewpoints

and perspectives, one is the perspective of the victim and the other is perpetrators therefore it’s

vitaltounderlinethemotivesandeectsfrombothendsOnthisnoteitsimportanttogive

priorityunderlining themotivesfrom perpetratorsstandpoint whythey use physicalforce

against victims. Apparently, the roots of this sort of crime derive from the desire to prevail

usingcoercionabusingwithauthority andreadingunclearlythevalidconsentcomingfrom

friendpartnerorcompanioncausingtraumaanddevelopingposraumatic stressdisorder

tovictims Indeed rape andother forms ofsexualassaults encompass sexualtraumasthat

endurenotonly physicalbodypains whichisperpetratorsprimaryobjectiveinmostof the

casesbut undeniablytouch thecore ofvictimssoulperhapscausingsexually transmiing

diseasesandorpregnancyandcertainlyposraumaticdisorders

The aforementioned make rapesexual assault and its all of forms of sexual violence

rightfully considered as the most serious crimes to Kosovo’s society and to any society in the

worldAsamaerafactsexualassaultitsnotanintercoursetobetreatedwithintheframes

ofthephysicalbodyonlybutthesouldignityintegrityofvictimsaswell

Nowadays this phenomenon seems to have reached out to more excessivelevels due to

dierentsocialreasonssuchas professionalworkload leaningstocareerdevelopmentand

othermotivesincluding the establishmentof nancial monopolies thatlead to untouched

gloryenablingsuchdevelopmentsprovideabeerandmoreconvenientclimatewheresexual

harassments and assaults may be considered common.

Amultidimensional approach shall be takenwhen studying sexual assaults analyzing the

motivesincludingpsychologicalfactorsthatsetbarriersasmanypeoplegiveupwhenfacing

threats as a result of fear of disgrace that tentatively may spread out in bringing irreparable

consequencesforthepersonandthefamilyorthefearoflosingthejoboranyotherfearsIn

thecontextofthetargetgroupofEasternRegionofKosovothisresearchprovidesanalysisof

allcasesofrapeassaultinGjilan areaKosovoseasternregionreportedfrom to

paying special emphasis on the crime rate of rape assault and the group ages involved in these

crimes.

Rape victims are oen females but there are cases of men involvementas victim but not

leingalonehomosexualsandchildren Theconsequencesofrapeare multifactorialwhich

inevitablyaremanifestedintheoverallhealthconditionsofthevictimcausingposraumatic

disorders.

However sexual assault is a very complicated crime that indisputably involves also threat

andpromisemakingthesexualassaultthemostdisgracefulcrimeAppallinglynotveryoen

this sort of crime is not reported at the Police and Judicial authorities and such things happen

in men dominated society such as Kosovo.

Rapeisaverywidespreadproblemintheworldthereforeeachcountrystatehasitsownway

to treating this phenomenon.
