Abstract
Rapeisoneof theworldscommonphenomenathathasexistedsincethecreationofhuman
beingsDenitions of rapehaveevolvedthroughout times butthe most commonused is
dening rape as sexual assault involving sexual intercourse carried out against a person
withoutapprovalor consentRapeor sexual assault itselfis carried out byusing physical
forceagainsta personwhois eitherincapableor isnotgiving clearapprovaltoperpetrator
thattakesactionThephenomenahastobestudiedandanalyzedfromtwomajorviewpoints
and perspectives, one is the perspective of the victim and the other is perpetrators therefore it’s
vitaltounderlinethemotivesandeectsfrombothendsOnthisnoteitsimportanttogive
priorityunderlining themotivesfrom perpetratorsstandpoint whythey use physicalforce
against victims. Apparently, the roots of this sort of crime derive from the desire to prevail
usingcoercionabusingwithauthority andreadingunclearlythevalidconsentcomingfrom
friendpartnerorcompanioncausingtraumaanddevelopingposraumatic stressdisorder
tovictims Indeed rape andother forms ofsexualassaults encompass sexualtraumasthat
endurenotonly physicalbodypains whichisperpetratorsprimaryobjectiveinmostof the
casesbut undeniablytouch thecore ofvictimssoulperhapscausingsexually transmiing
diseasesandorpregnancyandcertainlyposraumaticdisorders
The aforementioned make rapesexual assault and its all of forms of sexual violence
rightfully considered as the most serious crimes to Kosovo’s society and to any society in the
worldAsamaerafactsexualassaultitsnotanintercoursetobetreatedwithintheframes
ofthephysicalbodyonlybutthesouldignityintegrityofvictimsaswell
Nowadays this phenomenon seems to have reached out to more excessivelevels due to
dierentsocialreasonssuchas professionalworkload leaningstocareerdevelopmentand
othermotivesincluding the establishmentof nancial monopolies thatlead to untouched
gloryenablingsuchdevelopmentsprovideabeerandmoreconvenientclimatewheresexual
harassments and assaults may be considered common.
Amultidimensional approach shall be takenwhen studying sexual assaults analyzing the
motivesincludingpsychologicalfactorsthatsetbarriersasmanypeoplegiveupwhenfacing
threats as a result of fear of disgrace that tentatively may spread out in bringing irreparable
consequencesforthepersonandthefamilyorthefearoflosingthejoboranyotherfearsIn
thecontextofthetargetgroupofEasternRegionofKosovothisresearchprovidesanalysisof
allcasesofrapeassaultinGjilan areaKosovoseasternregionreportedfrom to
paying special emphasis on the crime rate of rape assault and the group ages involved in these
crimes.
Rape victims are oen females but there are cases of men involvementas victim but not
leingalonehomosexualsandchildren Theconsequencesofrapeare multifactorialwhich
inevitablyaremanifestedintheoverallhealthconditionsofthevictimcausingposraumatic
disorders.
However sexual assault is a very complicated crime that indisputably involves also threat
andpromisemakingthesexualassaultthemostdisgracefulcrimeAppallinglynotveryoen
this sort of crime is not reported at the Police and Judicial authorities and such things happen
in men dominated society such as Kosovo.
Rapeisaverywidespreadproblemintheworldthereforeeachcountrystatehasitsownway
to treating this phenomenon.
