lthough well-intended, the success o
f
trans

ormative programs is
indeterminate. Corporate culture has been established as a key
f
actor in
uencing trans
f
ormation.

his paper was designed to evaluate the role o
f
corporate culture in trans
f
ormative programs.
T
he classi
cation o
f
corporate culture into arti

acts, values, and assumptions was
f
ound to
demonstrate the in
uence o
f
culture in change programs e
ectively.
A
rti

acts represent aspects
o
f
culture and issues that are visible and decipherable by decision-makers and members o
f
a
n organization. However, decisions and solutions developed based on arti
f
acts are o
en
inaccurate since visible elements and data represent symptoms o
f
underlying problems.
Decision-makers must also consider invisible
f
actors, such as values and assumptions that
a
ctualize arti
f
acts. The implications o
f
cultural values and norms on key business
f
unctions,
including marketing, creativity, and innovativeness, are outlined. Whenever decision-makers
f
ail to account
f
or the obvious and non obvious
f
eatures o
f
culture, trans

ormative pro

rams are compromised. Trans

ormative programs succeed when accompanied by cultural
