Clara Guerra, Senior Consultant of the Portuguese Data Protection Authority (CNPD), Lisbon; where she works since 1997. At international level, she is the Coordinator of the Coordinated Supervision Committee, created within the framework of the European Data Protection Board, which covers data protection supervision in EU large information systems.
She is also a member of several groups dealing with the data protection coordinated supervision of the Schengen Information System, VIS, Eurodac and Customs Information System. She also participates in the work of the EDPB’s expert subgroup for borders, travel and law enforcement (BTLE).
Topic
The e-presentation provides practical insights and illustrations of the Law Enforcement Directive, which governs the processing of personal data for law enforcement purposes. The presenter focuses on two important aspects of the Directive, namely the rights of data subjects and the responsibilities of controllers and processors.
Regarding the rights of data subjects, the presenter explains the various rights that data subjects have under the Directive and provides practical examples of how these rights can be exercised. The presenter also covers the responsibilities of controllers and processors under the Directive, including the obligation to ensure that personal data is processed in a lawful, fair, and transparent manner.
