DECISIÓN DE LA COMISIÓN de 2 de octubre de 2003 relativa a la lista de establecimientos de Estonia autorizados para la importación de carne fresca en la Comunidad [notificada con el número C(2003) 3429] (Texto pertinente a efectos del EEE) (2003/689/CE) LA COMISIÓN DE LAS COMUNIDADES EUROPEAS,
Visto el Tratado constitutivo de la Comunidad Europea,
Vista la Directiva 72/462/CEE del Consejo, de 12 de diciembre de 1972, relativa a problemas sanitarios y de policía sanitaria en las importaciones de animales de las especies bovina, ovina y porcina y de carnes frescas procedentes de terceros países (1),
cuya última modificación la constituye el Reglamento (CE) no 807/2003 (2), y, en particular, el apartado 1 de su artículo 4 y las letras a) y b) del apartado 1 de su artículo 18,
Considerando lo siguiente:
(1) Sólo pueden ser autorizados para exportar carne fresca a la Comunidad aquellos establecimientos de terceros países que cumplan las condiciones generales y especialesestablecidas en la Directiva 72/462/CEE.
(2) La misión comunitaria efectuada en Estonia ha puesto de manifiesto que la situación de la sanidad animal en ese país es comparable a la de los Estados miembros, en particular por lo que se refiere a la transmisión de enfermedades a través de la carne, y que los controles sobre la producción de carne fresca funcionan de manera satisfactoria.
(3) A los efectos del apartado 3 del artículo 4 de la Directiva 72/462/CEE, Estonia ha presentado losdatos del establecimiento que debería ser autorizado para exportar carne fresca a la Comunidad.
(4) El establecimiento propuesto por Estonia cumple todos los requisitos establecidos en la Directiva 72/462/CEE para ser designado como matadero y sala de despiece autorizada desde donde pueden permitirse importaciones en la Unión Europea de acuerdo con lo establecido en el artículo 18 de la Directiva citada.
(5) La inspección comunitaria realizada ha demostrado que los niveles de higienede dicho establecimiento son satisfactorios y que, por lo tanto, puede ser incluido en la primera lista de establecimientos desde los que pueden autorizarse importaciones de carne fresca, que ha de ser confeccionada conforme a la Directiva...
